Greyton Classic: Final Reminder

Final preparations are under way to once again make this year’s event as memorable, if not better, than the previous years’ successes. Greyton and it’s people stand ready to welcome you to a memorable week-end of sport, fun, adventure and kuier! ?

? Pre-entries close this Wednesday at 17:00

? Night runners, don’t forget to bring your head lamps!  The course goes out of the streets of Greyton here and there, so you need to light your own way up ahead. For the fun of it, allow yourself to be painted a stripe or 2 of Glow-in-the-Dark paint : imagine the sight this will create in the dark! ?

? Please check registration and pre-registration schedules on the Event Schedule tab on the website. Late entries will be accepted.

? The weather forecast looks good for the weekend! Go to > forecasts and reports > search for Greyton. The Greyton farmers use this website. Little bit of rain forecast for Saturday afternoon, nothing for Sunday!?

? Stage Race riders will start 1st on Saturday morning (@8:20), there-after the 1-day mtb races.

? 65km seeding will be published on Friday on the website

? 30km seeding: We ask you to seed yourself and stand more or less in the position in the shute that you expect to finish the race in, i.e. If you expect to finish in the last half of the field, please position yourself there in the start shute.

? Allow sufficient travelling time from Greyton to The Oaks (10km gravel road + time to park). The parking area is approximately 600m from the venue

? Remind your family who will drive to The Oaks to be careful – sections of the road form part of all 3 mtb routes. Please obey all marshalls!

? Thanks to Rola Motors, there will be a minibus shuttle service available from Greyton to The Oaks on Saturday morning, leaving every 45minutes from 9:00 till 12:00. Supporters can sleep in a bit and come out to enjoy the festivities at The Oaks!

? Bring your kit bag with clean clothing and toiletries with to The Oaks – the hot showers await you there after the finish

? Due to the number of entries, late entries will start after pre-entries in the 65km and 33 km races

? Order your own action photo from Dusk and Dawn Events after the race. These guys know how to take a pic that makes you look like a true warrior!

? All participants will be timed. No Racetec timing chips required for the cyclists

? Please no littering on the route! Make a point of putting all wrappers in your back pockets ??

? Bike wash available – thanks again to NAMGEAR for all their trouble ?

? For the Stage Race riders, Transformalife will be available at the finish on Friday to pamper those tired legs and backs, back to tip-top condition for the 2nd day’s challenge. Book your massage now with Natasha on 083 6563770.
